Marie Chilemme

Marie Chilemme, born in Toulouse (France) in 1988 , begins the viola at the age of three years.  In 2005 she is admitted in the CNSM of Paris in the class of Jean Sulem. From 2008 to 2013 she is each year Selected for The Academy Ozawa in Switzerland (IMAS), she receives the precious advices from Paméla Franck, Robert Mann, Sadao Arada, Nobuko Imai and Seiji Ozawa. In 2010, she obtains her diploma of Master’s degree in the CNSM of Paris, with the congratulations of the jury.

Marie enters in the class of Tabea Zimmermann in the Hochschule Hanns Eisler of Berlin. And at the same time in the String Quartet's Class of Artemis Quartet .

In 2012, she creates with her brother the Quatuor Cavatine, winning two prices in prestigious International Competition of Chamber music of Hamburg ( ICMC) and the 2nd Grand Prix in the International Competition of String quartet of Banff in Canada ( Bisqc).
Marie is admitted in the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Brussels as a resident in the Viola Class of Miguel Da Silva.

In October 2017, she enters the QUATUOR ÉBÈNE . In January 2021, the quartet was commissioned by the Universty of Music and Performing Arts in Munich to establish a string quartet class as part oft he newly founded «Quatuor Ébène Academy».

Marie Chilemme is playing on «the Gibson» 1734 Stradivari, an exceptionally generous loan from the «Stradivari Foundation Habisreutinger».
